Diabetes Support Group

for Young Adults

 

About this Group

This virtual group is offered to young adults who are living with diabetes and want to improve the relationship with their bodies and mind. Topics covered include (but are not limited to): shame/guilt, relationship with food, mindfulness, relationships, acceptance, body positivity, and perfectionism. It offers a compassionate environment to process feelings, learn healthy coping skills, and be with others who understand thoughts and behaviors associated with the daily stressors of life with diabetes.

Group Details

Meeting Time.

This group meets on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00pm EST. Enrollment is open and continuous, though a commitment of at least 4 consecutive weeks is required.

Location.

This is a virtual support group. Sessions are offered through a secure video platform.

Group Cost.

The fee is $160 for every 4 weeks ($40/session).

Age Requirement

Most of our group participants are between the ages of 18-28 years old. If you are outside of this age bracket, please inquire about other opportunities for connection!

Meet our diabetes support group facilitator, Savannah Lee! Savannah has been living with type 1 diabetes since she was 18 years old. She works with kids, teens and adults struggling with diabetes, autoimmune disease, and other chronic conditions. She is especially passionate about issues related to body image, self esteem, disordered eating, Diabulimia, and other chronic stressors that come along with the daily struggles of chronic illness.
