Hello!

Lorrie Johnson, LCSW is a co-owner and clinical therapist at Sustainable Wellness. She  received her Master of Social Work degree from the University at Buffalo (UB) where she also received specialized training in trauma-informed care and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She currently provides individual and group therapy for adults at Sustainable Wellness.

Lorrie’s therapeutic style is from a humanistic, trauma-focused lens. She holds space with her clients, meeting them where they are, while also offering compassion, validation, and strength-based interventions that are backed by experience and research. She believes we all have within ourselves the ability to overcome and move through our past and present circumstances. It humbles Lorrie every day to witness the incredible healing process of those who thought it was impossible.

She regularly integrates therapeutic interventions that are based in neuroscience, including Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Schema Therapy, shadow work, Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gestalt, and life-changing EMDR.

When Lorrie is not attending conferences and seeing clients, she is hiking in the Tug Hill area of New York, gardening, or kayaking in the Salmon River. She is a Mom and a Grammie. She loves learning, and especially enjoys watching the Buffalo Bills and spending time with her dogs Frankie and Stella.

Therapy is a calm place to hold space with my clients. It’s full of compassion, validation, and change. It’s so hard to walk the healing path alone, so if you’re ready, let’s begin our work together, uncovering and healing the root issues that are keeping you feeling stuck. I believe the foundation to all good therapy is developing a relationship based on mutual trust. Let’s get started on this journey toward peace and wellbeing.
