Hello!

Amy Ricotta completed her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Brockport in May 2022 and has been treating both individuals and relationships at Sustainable Wellness ever since. Her trauma work has been balanced with sexual wellness experience and navigating relationship challenges – this is helpful when the three areas overlap.

Amy has a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection and utilizes her fitness background to help clients develop anxiety- and stress-reduction strategies as part of their therapeutic journeys. She is Level 2 trained in the Gottman Method, informed in Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trained in both Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

Amy appreciates the individuality of each client and the uniqueness of their experiences. She’s passionate about sexual wellbeing and believes that all consensual relationships are valid. She takes time to listen and develop a plan to meet each client’s individual needs, creating a collaborative and compassionate space during treatment. She welcomes clients of all backgrounds, is kink/BDSM-knowledgeable, sex-positive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Amy made the career change to mental health counseling after 25 years in veterinary management. She was certified in dog behavior and has worked with more than 100 families to modify and manage their dog’s behavior. To keep life interesting, she also taught group fitness classes (cycling, aerobics, strength training, and yoga) for most of that time.
