Meet Savannah

Diabetes Mental Health Specialist | Diabetes Coach

Savannah Lee

Hello!

Savannah Lee, LMSW is a clinical therapist specializing in the mental health components of Type 1 / autoimmune diabetes. She currently provides individual and group therapy to people living in New York and diabetes coaching to clients worldwide.

Savannah obtained her Master of Social Work degree from Simmons University in 2022 and has been living with Type 1 diabetes since she was 18 years old. She works with kids, teens and adults struggling with diabetes, autoimmune disease, and other chronic conditions. She is especially passionate about issues related to body image, self esteem, disordered eating, Diabulimia, and other chronic stressors that come along with the daily struggles of chronic illness.

Savannah and Sustainable Wellness co-owner, Sara Adams, LCSW-R, originally met through the American Diabetes Association and have been working closely over the years to help bridge the gap between the worlds of mental health and diabetes.

Outside the office, Savannah loves travel and going to the gym. She plays the ukulele and swam Division II in college. Her favorite drink at Starbucks is a Venti black tea with almond milk and 7 pumps of sugar-free vanilla. She’s also a strong advocate for the #Insulin4All movement, which raises awareness to the pervasive issue of inaffordability and inaccessibility of life-saving medication, supplies, care, and treatment for many people living with diabetes.
