Mindfulness for Trauma

 trauma-focused mindfulness skills & education

About this Group

Looking through the lens of trauma and PTSD, this DBT-informed virtual group aims to help clients improve awareness, practice acceptance, and find their way to the present moment. Mindfulness is a research-based strategy that takes effort and practice. It’s also a necessary first step to building and mastering other coping skills. Participants of this group will gain education about trauma, why mindfulness can be difficult for the trauma brain, and also why mindfulness can be so helpful to trauma healing. Mindfulness exercises will also be introduced and practiced. This group is a necessary pre-requisite to our DBT for Trauma + PTSD group. It can also be a helpful first step for many of our other trauma-focused therapy groups and classes.
