Therapy for Kids
Approximate length of each session:
30-60 mins
Recognizing when a child might need professional help can be challenging. The good news is that early intervention through therapy can have a significant positive impact on a child’s life. Therapy for kids can take various forms, depending on their age and specific needs. Therapy for kids is tailored to their developmental stage and is also designed to be engaging and effective for their unique needs.
The children we see for therapy come in with a range of issues. Although, there are some common struggles that we specialize in, including:
Abuse (experiencing or witnessing)
Behavior issues
Developmental traumas
Emotional disturbance
Family + relationships
Identity struggles
LGBTQIA+
PTSD and other trauma-related stressors
Self harm
Individual therapy sessions for kids usually last approximately 30-60 minutes and are typically conducted every 1-4 weeks depending on the child's treatment needs. The duration of overall time spent in therapy is individualized and dependent on goals and needs.
